Detailed Breakdown
Vehicle and cash inputs
Enter sale price, rebate, down payment, trade-in value, and any remaining trade-in balance. Negative trade equity increases the amount financed.
Tax and fees
Enter local sales tax and title/registration fees. Choose whether to finance tax and fees or pay them upfront. Trade-in tax treatment varies, so enable the taxable-price reduction only when it applies locally.
Payment math
The financed balance is reduced by cash down payment and net trade equity, then adjusted for rebate and any rolled-in costs. Fixed monthly payment uses the standard amortized-loan formula with annual rate divided by 12.
Limits
This is a general vehicle-loan estimate. It does not apply country/state tax law, insurance, lender fees not entered, variable rates, or payoff penalties. Confirm the final buyer's order with the dealer and lender.
Examples
With a vehicle price of 30,000, a 5,000 down payment, no trade-in, zero tax or fees, a 6% annual rate, and a 60-month term, the financed amount is 25,000 and the estimated payment is about 483.32 per month. Use one currency throughout.
FAQ
Does the payment include sales tax and fees?
Only when you enter those amounts and choose to roll them into the loan. Upfront costs are shown separately when they are not financed.
How is trade-in equity calculated?
The estimate subtracts the amount still owed on the trade-in from its entered value. Negative equity increases the amount to finance.
Does a longer term reduce the total cost?
It can reduce the scheduled monthly payment, but usually increases the total interest because the balance is repaid more slowly.
