Currency Calculator
Fetch a recent reference rate or enter a provider's quote manually.
Reference rates are indicative, update periodically, and may differ from provider buy/sell rates. Confirm fees and the final quote before exchanging.
Detailed Breakdown
Rate direction
The rate means how many target-currency units equal one unit of the source currency. For example, 1 USD = 120 BDT means multiply USD by 120 to estimate BDT.
Calculation
Converted amount = source amount * entered rate. To reverse the pair, use Swap currencies, which swaps the codes and inverts the entered rate (1 / the original rate); without a rate, swap the codes and fetch or enter a new rate.
Use a transaction quote
Banks, card networks, and exchange providers can use different buy/sell rates and add commissions. Enter the rate offered by the provider you plan to use.
Rate source
The fetch button requests a daily reference rate from ExchangeRate-API's open endpoint. It is not a guaranteed transaction quote and may not reflect fees or the provider's buy/sell spread.
Examples
If a sample quote is 1 USD = 120 BDT, converting 100 USD gives 12,000 BDT before provider fees. Replace the sample with a fetched reference rate or the quote offered by your provider.
FAQ
Is the fetched rate guaranteed for a transaction?
No. It is an indicative reference rate updated periodically. Banks, card networks, and transfer services may apply different rates and fees.
Why does changing a currency clear the rate?
A quote applies to one currency pair and direction only. Fetch or enter a new quote after changing either code.
Can I enter my provider's own quote?
Yes. Enter how many target-currency units equal one unit of the source currency, then check any additional charges separately.
