Future Value Calculator
Estimate how a current amount or regular payments may grow to a future date.
Rate and period must use the same interval: for example, a monthly rate with the number of months, or an annual rate with the number of years.
Projected value by period
Growth follows the selected amount/payment mode and rate per period.
Period schedule
Payment timing and rate units match the calculator inputs.

Detailed Breakdown
Single amount
Enter today's present amount, rate per period, and number of
periods. Formula: FV = PV * (1 + i)^n.
Periodic payments
Switch to periodic payments to model equal deposits. End-of-period deposits use an ordinary annuity; enable the checkbox if each deposit is made at the beginning of the period.
Timing and rate units
The rate and period count must use the same interval. A monthly rate pairs with months; an annual rate pairs with years. Beginning-of-period deposits receive one extra period of growth.
Limits
The calculation assumes a fixed rate and equal payments. Taxes, fees, changing returns, and irregular cash-flow dates are not included. At 0% rate, FV equals the amount plus all deposits.
Examples
At 5% per year, 1,000 invested for 10 years with annual compounding grows to about 1,628.89 before fees and tax. Periodic deposits also depend on their amount and whether they arrive at the start or end of each period.
FAQ

Should the rate be annual or monthly?
Keep the rate period and number of periods aligned, such as an annual rate with years or a monthly rate with months.
When are recurring deposits made?
Use the timing selection in the tool. Beginning-of-period deposits receive one extra period of growth.
