Detailed Breakdown

Inputs and time horizon

Years to retirement are planned retirement age minus current age. The projection starts with current savings and adds the monthly contribution through that period.

Projected savings

The assumed annual return is converted to a monthly rate; growth is applied monthly and contributions are added at month end. Total contributions include the current balance plus future deposits.

Inflation-adjusted value

This estimates today's purchasing power by dividing the future balance by cumulative assumed inflation over the saving period. It is a simplified constant-inflation projection.

Income target and limits

Target annual income is current annual income multiplied by the selected replacement percentage. It is not a withdrawal plan, pension quote, or eligibility test. Employer matches, local benefits, taxes, fees, changing returns, and lifespan are not modeled.

Examples

If annual income is 70,000 and the selected income target is 70%, the target is 49,000 per year before considering other retirement income. The balance projection separately depends on savings, contributions, years, and return assumptions.

FAQ

Does the projection guarantee retirement income?

No. It is a simplified savings projection and does not guarantee investment returns, withdrawals, or future income.

Does it account for inflation?

The displayed inflation-adjusted value uses the entered inflation assumption; actual inflation may differ over time.

Are government or employer benefits included?

Only if your page's inputs explicitly include them. Review the listed assumptions and plan those income sources separately.
