Detailed Breakdown

Project account growth from a starting balance plus annual and monthly deposits that can rise over time.

Inputs

Set an initial deposit, annual and monthly contributions, their yearly increase rates, annual interest rate, compounding frequency, duration, and optional tax on interest. Contributions are assumed at period end.

Schedule timing

Monthly contributions are added at each month end. The annual contribution is added at year end. Each contribution increase is applied at the beginning of each new saving year.

Interest model

The selected nominal annual rate is converted to an equivalent monthly rate. Monthly interest is calculated on the current balance; the optional tax percentage is deducted from each period's interest before adding it to the balance.

Assumptions and limits

The model uses a constant rate and a simplified tax estimate. Actual account terms may compound or tax interest differently. Fees, withdrawals, inflation, and changing rates are not included; check your provider's terms.

Examples

A savings plan combines the starting balance with regular deposits and interest earned over the selected term. Compare the projected ending balance with total deposits to see how much growth the assumed rate contributes.

FAQ

When are deposits added to the account?

The schedule uses the contribution timing selected in the calculator. Beginning-of-period deposits earn for one more period than end-of-period deposits.

Is the interest rate guaranteed?

No. The entered rate is held constant for the projection; variable account rates can change.

Are tax and inflation included?

Only the assumptions you enter are reflected. Actual taxes and purchasing-power changes depend on account rules and future inflation.
